the weekend [wrap]

Oh man. July already and still I am horrible at writing everything down. There goes the first half of 2012, and indeed, the last six months of the year sure hold a lot of promise.

(Under cut: photos, work-related updatage, etc.)

1) Last Monday we welcomed the latest addition to the Research family — with Ana trying out for the Business section, it is with a nevertheless happy heart that we usher in Bea to the fold. We hope to not drive her crazy… or at least, not immediately. Haha.

2) Saturday’s bowling game. Oh my God, I have no words. Here, have our score:

Game 3 scores from top to bottom: Marielle, Ana, Kate, Schatzi, Nelson (CHECK OUT THOSE FIVE STRIKES GUYS). WATCH OUT TEAM MASSKARA IS OUT TO GET YOU NEXT YEAR.

Kidding aside, we neophytes at the Research section are just beyond happy to have been given this chance to join in such a wonderful tournament, our newbie skills notwithstanding. Thanks for having us guys! =) Despite the fantastic last showing, we’re not reaching the Finals/Championship this year, BUT we’re willing to try again. HAHA. You know what they say — Hope springs eternal so — Next year ulit! =)

3) Sunday’s Mayumi Heat Game 5. Fantastic attendance was fantastic — there were actually SIXTEEN GIRLS who came to play last Sunday and it was AWESOME. And by AWESOME we mean — Substitutes! Like, not playing for 2 hours straight with 30-minute photo op intervals HAHA. SUCCESS. Dear girls – You are a dream come true. Thank you and we’ll see you soon!

All the girls underneath the basketball ring. We are the Mayumi Heat!

We’re just a bunch of girls looking for some basketball fun in Makati. Game 6 is on for July 29, Sunday, 8 a.m. at the Finman Gym. Like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/mayumiheat or follow us on Twitter @mayumiheat for game schedules. We really like meeting other basketball-loving girls, and we’re hoping to see you! =)

4) That Epic Anvil Warehouse Sale. Where books go for as low as P1 each. NOT EVEN KIDDING. It’s on until the end of July — all weekends (Fri-Sat-Sun) 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Details here. Went there with Andrea and her parents after the basketball game and got for myself 11 books for.. (drumroll) P75 IN TOTAL. I can’t even. DON’T WALK – RUN.

This pile didn’t even make it to P70. FOR SRS.

Afterwards, we had Thai for dinner at Nav in Pasig, which was awesome. Sticky Thai rice with mangoes is the shiz. (And then when we  got home I promptly slept for twelve or thirteen hours. When I woke it was already  8 the following morning, and by then  Spain had already won the Euro Finals 2012 over Italy, 4-0. Vamos!)
