This is not about Edsa, although it is a bit about freedom, but not on that scale, not really. Scratch that – truth be told, I already feel bad about opening with that, because what does Edsa have to do about old loves, right?
Right.
Happy Pride! The Supreme Court of the United States has legalized same-sex marriages across 50 states — a victory for the gay rights movement, indeed!
This means, more than anything, that same-sex couples in the 13 states that still had a ban on it CAN NOW GET MARRIED so kudos to you guys. Really.

This weekend round-up comes a day early.
We all probably know by now that the Pope, on the plane back to the Vatican from the Philippines, has called on the faithful to not “breed like rabbits.” That the Church is encouraging responsible parenthood is not exactly new — it’s not against family planning; it’s against contraception. I suppose this means parishioners cannot obtain contraceptives in churches, which is just logical. Anywhere else though — fair game, eh.

I find it funny that they keep talking about “ideological colonization” and we just accept it like this wasn’t what they did to us when they first came here.
